What we collect, why we collect it, and how to make us stop.
Last updated 16 September 2026The short version
We collect what the app needs to work and nothing we would be uncomfortable telling you about. We do not sell your data. We do not listen to your calls.
What we collect
Three kinds of thing, and that is the whole list:
- What you give us — your phone number, display name, photo, birth date, gender, the interests you pick, and for creators, the bank details needed to pay you.
- What the app produces — messages, gift and call records (who, when, how long, never what was said), coin purchases and balance, reports you file, and who you follow.
- What your device reports — device model, OS version, app version, coarse country from your IP, crash reports, and anonymous usage events so we can see which screens people get stuck on.
Calls and messages
Audio and video are carried peer-to-peer where the network allows and relayed where it does not. Either way we do not record them, store them, or transcribe them. What we keep is the fact that a call happened and how long it lasted, because that is what the billing is made of.
Text messages are stored so they are there when you open the app again, and so they can be produced if you report someone.
Why we are allowed to
To give you the service you asked for and to take payment for it. To keep people safe and investigate reports. To meet legal obligations like tax and fraud records. And, with your consent, to send you notifications — which you can switch off per type in Settings.
Who else sees it
Only the companies we need to run Talkr, and only the part each of them needs:
- Firebase, to send the SMS code you sign in with.
- Our payment provider, to take card payments — we never see or store your card number.
- Cloud hosting and storage for the app's database and your photos.
- Crash and analytics providers, which see device and usage data, not your messages.
- Law enforcement, where a valid legal request requires it.
How long we keep it
Your account data lives as long as your account does. Delete the account and we remove your profile, photos and messages within 30 days, keeping only what the law makes us keep — purchase and payout records, for as long as tax rules require, and a record of a ban so a removed account cannot simply come back.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Delete is also a button in Settings, and it is the same thing.
Email hello@krapton.com and we will answer within 30 days. If you are in the UK or the EU you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Talkr is 18+. We do not knowingly hold data about anyone younger, and if we find an underage account we delete it and its data outright.
How we prevent, detect and act on child sexual abuse and exploitation is set out in full in our Child Safety Standards at /legal/child-safety.
